At YS-Casting, process control begins as early as in the planning and development phase of the products. We support our customers to perform all required tests and inspections in a laboratory. It goes without saying that our plants are certified according to ISO 9001 in line with a validated quality management. The first and important step after receiving the purchase order is drawing control. We keep 3 “C” principle.

Pattern Control
Before pattern making, we simulate feeding system to check the pattern design from filling and solidification. In this way, we can greatly reduce casting defects and improve efficiency in production. The software used is AnyCasting, ProCast and MAGAMASOFT

Raw Material Control

Raw Material Control
The raw materials are purchased from formal channels and to exact specifications. Generally, we should check the chemistry property as new raw material coming. The raw material cover pig iron, strap steel, coal and sand.

Molding Sand Control

Molding Sand Control
Molding sand is typically recycled and reused. After the sand was screened, the sand properties need to be inspected. The properties are moisture content, permeability, strength, and collapsibility and so on. Besides, also check surface strength and stability under high burning temperature of resin sand.

Pouring Process Control

Pouring Process Control
Check the molten iron chemistry and real-time temperature, before pouring. Since molten iron is qualified, we do fast pouring within 8 minutes.
Regarding ductile iron, to keep stable of nodulizing, we use wire-feeding equipment. The equipment not only lower air pollution, but also increase casting quality.
We make test specimens that got from end of pouring melting material. Check melting material chemistry, mechanical property and metallograph phase. Specimens and test results are stored for three years.

Raw Casting & Machining Control
Various measuring instruments are employed for a first set of castings, so as to standardize subsequent castings. Check the critical dimensions with CMM. Do visual inspection to verify completion of all features, part having been deburred, vendor identification. For dimensions that need to be 100% checked, design and make fast checking tooling.
